IT Quiz

A short web quiz that closes the volunteer onboarding process. Passing it means joining the community group already knowing the rules you are joining.

The last step before the community group

Onboarding starts in the volunteers bot and ends in the community group. The quiz sits between them and confirms that a new volunteer knows how the community works before the first message.

Volunteers go through all onboarding tasks in the IT Community Volunteers Bot.

Pass the IT Quiz

The bot redirects to the quiz website, where questions cover the rules and values of the community.
3 Group
Join the group

Once the quiz is passed, the participant joins the community group.

Introduce yourself

The last step is a self-introduction, so the community knows who has joined and what they do.

The quiz runs on its own website and opens right after the bot tasks. The group opens once it is passed.

Second use

Re-onboarding after a rule violation

The quiz is also required from members who violate group rules. Going through the questions again is part of re-onboarding and of keeping the community guidelines in sight.

One shared baseline

Everyone entering the community group has read the same rules and confirmed a basic understanding of them.

Onboarding ends with a check rather than an assumption that the rules were read somewhere along the way.

Rules are not only published, they are confirmed by every participant, and there is a defined step for those who break them.
