Sign up for a hackathon
The bot registers participants for the hackathons that IT Community runs.
A Telegram bot for hackathon registration and team building at IT Community events. Participants sign up, put a team together and find the people they are missing without leaving the chat.
Already used at large hackathons, and planned for every IT Community hackathon that follows.
Signing up for a hackathon, forming a team and looking for teammates are three different problems. The bot keeps all of them in the same chat.
The bot registers participants for the hackathons that IT Community runs.
Participants either start a team of their own or join a team that is already forming.
Every team has its own name and a unique code that identifies it inside the bot.
Teams that are short of a person can look for them through the bot instead of asking around in chats.
Participants register for the hackathon directly in the chat.
A new team gets a name and its own code. Anyone who has that code can join the team it belongs to.
Teams that still need people use the bot to find them among the other participants.
The bot went through hackathons with a large number of participants, where registration and team formation have to hold up at scale, and it is planned as the registration tool for the community hackathons that follow.
Signing up and putting a team together happen in the same place, in a few messages, instead of across forms and separate chats.
Organisers keep participants, teams and their composition in a single system, which matters most when a hackathon is large.
Registration for IT Community hackathons opens in the bot as soon as a hackathon is announced.
If you are coming to a hackathon alone, the bot is also where teams that are short of a person are looking: itcomuzbot.
