On February 7, the IT Community Roadshow — a large-scale national educational initiative by IT Community of Uzbekistan — officially launched at the Specialized IT School named after Al-Khwarizmi in Tashkent. The project is implemented with the support of Uzum, Huawei, UZCARD, and EPAM, in partnership with School 21, Women in Tech, OLX, and Kursiv.
The goal of the IT Community Roadshow is to make high-quality IT education and career opportunities in technology accessible to young people across Uzbekistan, regardless of where they live. The initiative aims to create equal starting opportunities and to nurture a new generation of digital economy professionals.
The opening ceremony began with a keynote address by Shavkat Karimov, Founder and Head of IT Community of Uzbekistan, accompanied by a video presentation outlining the mission and scale of the project. He emphasized that the Roadshow will continue across all key regional cities of Uzbekistan, reaching a record number of participants in 30 cities nationwide.
The event featured guest speakers from the tech ecosystem. Ilkhomjon Aliev, Deputy Director for Innovation at U-Enter, shared practical insights on building successful startups and explained why some projects achieve their goals while others fail. Mokhinur Inomova, Founder and CEO of YorYor and Karyerist_uz, presented practical tips on how to leverage AI to find a job in 2026. Dilafruz Khidoyatova, Technical Talent Acquisition Partner at GROUP-IB, addressed one of the most pressing questions from the audience: whether AI will replace human jobs and how emerging technologies will impact professional growth. The sessions were followed by an open Q&A, encouraging live discussion and networking.
The program placed strong emphasis on practical skills. Participants learned how to build and optimize a professional LinkedIn profile, took part in an interactive Q&A session, and joined a quiz where 15 of the most active and creative attendees received valuable prizes. A special focus was placed on gender equality in technology. Anna Ambrozevich, Director of the international organization Women in Tech in Uzbekistan, highlighted the importance of supporting and engaging girls in the IT sector, noting that diversity is a key driver of sustainable growth in the tech industry.
Roadshow 2.0 was not just an educational event, but a platform for inspiration, knowledge exchange, and the formation of a professional community of future IT leaders in Uzbekistan.
